7 Signs It’s Time to Redesign Your Website

A website doesn’t announce when it’s gone stale — it just quietly starts converting fewer visitors into customers. Here are seven signs it’s time for a redesign, not just a content tweak.

1. It doesn’t work well on mobile

More than half of web traffic is mobile. If your site requires pinching, zooming, or horizontal scrolling on a phone, you’re losing visitors before they read a word.

2. It’s slow to load

Every extra second of load time increases the chance a visitor leaves. Older sites built with heavy themes and unoptimized images are frequently the slowest.

3. Your competitors’ sites look more current

Design trends shift, and a site that looked modern five years ago can look dated fast. If a prospect compares you side-by-side with a competitor, an outdated design quietly signals an outdated business.

4. It’s hard to update

If changing a price or adding a new page requires calling a developer, the site is costing you time and money every month it stays that way.

5. Traffic is fine but leads aren’t

Getting visitors but not enquiries usually points to unclear calls-to-action, confusing navigation, or a layout that buries what you actually want people to do.

6. It isn’t built for SEO

Older sites often lack the technical basics — clean page structure, fast load times, proper metadata — that search engines reward. That’s often invisible until you check.

7. It doesn’t reflect what you offer now

Businesses evolve. If your site still describes services you no longer offer, or omits ones you do, it’s actively working against you.

If two or more of these sound familiar, a redesign will likely pay for itself. See redesign pricing or talk to us about what a refresh would involve for your site.
